Marisa Miller in the May issue of Esquire Magazine

Biography :
Marisa  Lee Miller (nee Bertetta) was born August 6, 1978 to parents Marc and Krista Bertetta  and raised in Santa Cruz, the sunny surfing capital of California. As a naturally beautiful girl who just didn't realize that the odds for supermodel stardom were stacked heavily in her favor, she developed a liking first for volleyball, surfing and the friendship of boys. 

Though she regularly dressed in heavy clothes to obscure her figure, Marisa Miller was first “discovered” at age 16 walking through a San Francisco cafe by two Italian modeling agents. Marisa gained  concentration meantime she appeared in a 1997 issue of perfect 10 magazine. although she came in third behind Ashley Degenford moreover Monica Hansen in perfect 10 magazine’s first annual model search, she was repeatedly showcased in following issues, including the covers of the Winter 1998, Aug/Sept 1999, moreover Fall 2004 editions.

Marisa Miller's subsequent trip to Italy with her mom offered her a quick look at the modeling industry, but she still had to get over her shyness if she hoped to enter the industry as a professional. Three years later, back in California, Marisa Miller literally stripped off her shyness in 1997 as the cover girl for the debut issue of the magazine Perfect 10. Appearing au naturel on the cover, Marisa was indeed a perfect 10. She would repeat the feat with two more covers for the magazine in 1998 and 1999.

She married Jim Miller, a Los Angeles surfing contest promoter and lifeguard from California, in 2000. The couple separated in 2002; they divorced soon after. After the divorce, Marisa continued using the surname Miller. She married music producer Griffin Guess on April 15, 2006. 

Marisa first appeared in the 2002 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, securing her position within the modeling industry. As a result, clients such as Victoria’s Secret hired the blond bombshell to endorse their brands. Other companies followed suit, and soon Marisa began appearing in publicity campaigns for the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, J. Crew, Victoria’s Secret, Andrew Marc, and most recently True Religion Jeans. Marisa has graced the covers of magazines like Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Shape and Ocean Drive. It’s no wonder Sports Illustrated called her back for the 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 Swimsuit Editions.
In 2007 Marisa shot her first television commercial for Victoria’s Secret with fellow supermodel Heidi Klum and she made her debut strut down the world’s sexiest runway at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.  Since then Marisa has shown no signs of slowing down. By being honored with the coveted cover of the 2008 Sport’s Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, Marisa has secured her place in modeling history. Her whirlwind press tour included David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel, and Ellen. Shortly thereafter, Marisa added another great accolade to her career by debuting as number one on Maxim magazines annual ‘Hot 100′ list. She also launched her own collection of Vans in a first time ever collaboration between Vans Inc. and a supermodel. The line that featured three designs was available on a limited-edition run at exclusive boutiques nationally.

In 2008, Marisa spread her wings and officially became a Victoria’s Secret Angel by signing a multi-year contract with the giant retail chain.

In 2010, Miller came in third in FHM magazine's UK edition of the 16th annual "Sexiest Women in the World" poll, placing behind actress Megan Fox and winner, British singer Cheryl Cole. Miller topped the poll in the US edition of FHM and was declared the global winner of the poll, receiving the most combined votes from FHM's 24 international editions
